A little bloggie-break 😊

Hello !

The time for a little break has come once again.

All's good, but it's nice to recharge the batteries sometimes isn't it.

I thought I'd leave behind some photos of posies I'd picked from our garden over the past while:

I know we all share the love of a pretty flower or two:

Take care, stay safe dear blogfriends, and I'll be back to catch up with everyone in about a month's time.

Warmest regards,
Sue xx

Friends ~ Happy PPF 😊

Hello!

Hope everyone had a great week.

Seems our heat has started to calm down now and we've even had a nice drop or two of rain.
It's lovely, of an evening, to hop into the nightie and dressing-gown again with cosy socks on - yay!

This week's entry is some more of my face sketches.

I was inspired after scrolling through facebook last Sunday when I saw a beautiful photo on a family member's post. She'd been to a wedding and was enjoying a lovely moment with her good friends.

Of course, with my stylised way of sketching faces, I haven't done them justice but their brilliant smiles, gorgeous dresses and the friendship they share I hope does come through:

Inside out ...

Hello !

Yesterday was shopping day for us.

I had a hankering for lunch at a little cafe we'd ventured into last week.  So we did.

This time, I had two (instead of just one) Inside Out Sushis...

A vegetarian, and a tuna with avocado.  They were yummy.

Hubby had a chicken wrap ...  a "chicken schnitzel sushi" the family are calling it 😊 lol xx

Later on, some sketching:

Update: I took my inspiration from Connie who has a website "More Where that Came From".  I saw her lovely profile pic on someone's sidebar and so was inspired to sketch in my stylised way.

I really hope everyone's having a great week

Happy 8th Year Paint Party Friday !

Hello !

Eva and Kristin's Paint Party Blogspot is turning 8 years old this week and I have to say its been an absolute pleasure being a part of this lovely group since I tentatively posted my first entry at the start of 2017.

I also really appreciate other blogfriends who drop in and leave their comments too when I post some artwork...

it's kind of like baring your soul a little bit, to actually show a painting on the internet like this - we're sometimes our own worst critics and to have this forum where we can each share our efforts in a friendly and mutually supportive atmosphere is always uplifting and, best of all, fun!

In my first artwork post on Paint Party Friday:
"Blackbird Nest"

I said ....  "I love to paint, it's not only a hobby, I think it must be another form of meditation because the time can slip by in such a peaceful and relaxing way."

... well, I still think that but even more so and,
I'd like to say that if you have always had a hankering to try your hand at painting, give it a try - no need to show it to anyone if you wish but just have the pleasure of making strokes and shapes first of all.
Look at what others do and, if it pleases you,  sketch or paint your version of it (if you show it, an attribution is always the correct way to go).
There's so many really helpful youtube videos out there as well and, believe me, to get true pleasure out of painting - do your own thing, don't be put off by all the 'rules' out there, especially with watercolour... remember that watercolours are what children have always been given as the first medium to paint with.  Get that inner child out and enjoy :D)
Now, I mean no disrespect to creators of Fine Art, I'm speaking purely from a hobbyist's point of view.

Cheers now and Happy PPF!

fairly random things

Hello and Happy Sunday!

I wanted to put a post together but I must warn you I'm in a strange mood and who knows what I'll put in it. No editing, no second-guessing ... just pics (old and new), a bit of art, and a few words:

a pic I took quite a few years ago of this Emu... I like that stare, it speaks volumes!

It was a quick coffee on the verandah for us
today....

... as soon as the sun came out - we went inside.
Another hot day, but cooler ones ahead thankfully

I love this wallpaper from our phone

Yesterday we went to the fish and chippy shop
we pretended we were on holiday
because when you're on holidays you can break
'the rules'

... then for a walk

Oh, you people at the Internet Office:
