Sometimes

Sometimes, when things get too much and all seems hopeless, the best thing is to stop banging our heads against a brick wall in trying to change a situation.  

Some people in the world are simply of no consequence.  

Sometimes, the justice system fails us and it also fails to support those who are paid to uphold the law and protect us.  

Sometimes, the best way is to come to grips with the fact that we're going in the wrong direction in life.  It involves a lot of hard work but sometimes when we gather up what shreds of dignity we have left and walk away from that impossible situation, it is so freeing.  

We take back our power.  

We have a right to live in peace - and we will, under our own steam.  

Life's too short to waste, so we're not.  

We've got each other and the love of those who matter to us.

Life is good once more.

(I wrote "Sometimes" just after we had to leave our home and live elsewhere because of an impossible situation that gave us no peace in our daily lives.  

We were away for over 2 years as it happened.

It was hard thinking what may be happening to our little home in our absence. 

Fortunately, events took a turn and we were able to come back home.

Overgrown and neglected as it was - it was so beautiful to be back and to enjoy some peace living amongst good, good people.) 

It's real nice to have those warm and fuzzy moments return
