Hope everyone had a great week.
Seems our heat has started to calm down now and we've even had a nice drop or two of rain.
It's lovely, of an evening, to hop into the nightie and dressing-gown again with cosy socks on - yay!
This week's entry is some more of my face sketches.
I was inspired after scrolling through facebook last Sunday when I saw a beautiful photo on a family member's post. She'd been to a wedding and was enjoying a lovely moment with her good friends.
Of course, with my stylised way of sketching faces, I haven't done them justice but their brilliant smiles, gorgeous dresses and the friendship they share I hope does come through:

ReplyDeleteThanks Susan, I really appreciate your thoughts.
DeleteYes, facebook, I asked permission first but then afterwards I thought, well it's probably not going to look like them the way I sketch in such a stylised way, but anyway they really liked the finished sketch so that was a bonus :D) Cheers xx

ReplyDeleteThanks very much Joan, and yes I do and I appreciate your encouragement always - it's always a leap of faith showing our sketches/paintings/crafts on the internet and so to receive comments back like yours and others is so nice :D) xx
DeleteI too love your new header. I like the way the pretty leaves stand out whilst the greenery in the background is soft and less focused. You are good at photography as well as painting and drawing. You capture so well the happiness and friendship in your sketch of the three ladies.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, that's very considerate of you to say... at the time I just loved seeing all those leaves (it's taken in Canberra which is glorious at this time of year with all those beautiful trees).
DeleteThanks too re my artwork - enjoy the week ahead :D) xx
Love the new background and header. Your faces are wonderful. Very loose and full of life; I love them. Ah... I wouldn't mind a bit of heat, we're due to get snow on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteThank you John, I change them around quite a bit - so many variations available :D)
DeleteLovely to receive your feedback re my faces too, appreciated :D)
Glad you had a change of weather, and it's become cooler.
ReplyDeleteArtists that sketch faces can get quite a lot of money in our neck of the woods. There's a weekly crafts fair, in a central place, and people are attracted by the opportunity to have their portrait done by a talented sketcher.
It's a lovely time of year here now. The afternoons are especially glorious - just right! We enjoy each one :D)
DeleteOh yes, I've seen some of those artists - they're so quick too. That's a gift most certainly, to be able to sketch amongst a crowd, noise, distractions and produce such lovely portraits.
Thanks for your visit :D)
It looks like a great job to me. The smiles are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Betty. Hugs to you xx
DeleteI am just so pleased that your weather has changed and it's become cooler - it makes such a difference.
ReplyDeleteYour "Friends" sketch is brilliant, love their smiley faces, it's got a happy feel and look about it :)
All the best Jan
Thanks Jan, it is nice now with the milder weather. We're even expecting some rain as from tomorrow - the garden has been parched, as are others but even moreso in other parts of the country.
DeleteLovely to have your feedback re my sketch, thank you kindly.
Have a great week ahead, cheers :D) xx
Te quedaron preciosas. Besitos y feliz domingo.
ReplyDeleteTranslation: "You were beautiful. Kisses and happy Sunday"
DeleteThanks very kindly Teresa, really happy for your visits :D) xx
Oh, I'm so tired, danced all night long! :)
ReplyDelete'Friends' look very pretty...I can remember a wedding in Australia - people were relaxed but very nicely dressed. I like Aussie style!
