Smokescreen

I took these photos at Paynesville..... not in the mist, but in the smoke drift from the recent fires at Tostaree, East Gippsland.

Some 11,365 ha were burnt along with several homes, sheds and fences, but, fortunately, there was no loss of life. It was declared contained over the weekend.

Floods and  fires around the country... what a devastating time it's been (and still is) for some.

What am I trying to say?

"What are you trying to say with this photograph?" is the most fundamental of questions regarding creative photography." ~ Brenda Tharp (Creative Nature & Outdoor Photography... a gift from My Darling)

...... a quiet,  momentary feeling that time has stood still

....... the occupants may still be asleep, but with the early morning sun
reflection it seems to me that  the house itself has decided
it's time to awaken

getting a bit misty

~ caught a misty start to the day on Tuesday. I've always enjoyed that crisp, fresh, feeling of dewy mist against the face. It holds the promise of a beautiful sunny day to come.

~ some more misty pics I snapped a few years' ago when we visited the ACT Botanical Gardens

flooding plains

~ this is a picture of river flats near our home during the 2007 floods.  The rivers in the area were rising again yesterday, although not to that extent ..... yet!
