A woman of strength ~ Happy Paint Party Friday ~

Hello!

Lovely to be linking up to PPF once more after my bloggie-break.

My entry is a stylised sketch of Chrissie Foster - a woman of great strength and courage.
I don't have any permissions to speak about her life here,  but I will say I was inspired to draw her:

sketched using pencil, watercolour, inkpen

Friends ~ Happy PPF 😊

Hello!

Hope everyone had a great week.

Seems our heat has started to calm down now and we've even had a nice drop or two of rain.
It's lovely, of an evening, to hop into the nightie and dressing-gown again with cosy socks on - yay!

This week's entry is some more of my face sketches.

I was inspired after scrolling through facebook last Sunday when I saw a beautiful photo on a family member's post. She'd been to a wedding and was enjoying a lovely moment with her good friends.

Of course, with my stylised way of sketching faces, I haven't done them justice but their brilliant smiles, gorgeous dresses and the friendship they share I hope does come through:

Inside out ...

Hello !

Yesterday was shopping day for us.

I had a hankering for lunch at a little cafe we'd ventured into last week.  So we did.

This time, I had two (instead of just one) Inside Out Sushis...

A vegetarian, and a tuna with avocado.  They were yummy.

Hubby had a chicken wrap ...  a "chicken schnitzel sushi" the family are calling it 😊 lol xx

Later on, some sketching:

Update: I took my inspiration from Connie who has a website "More Where that Came From".  I saw her lovely profile pic on someone's sidebar and so was inspired to sketch in my stylised way.

I really hope everyone's having a great week

fairly random things

Hello and Happy Sunday!

I wanted to put a post together but I must warn you I'm in a strange mood and who knows what I'll put in it. No editing, no second-guessing ... just pics (old and new), a bit of art, and a few words:

a pic I took quite a few years ago of this Emu... I like that stare, it speaks volumes!

It was a quick coffee on the verandah for us
today....

... as soon as the sun came out - we went inside.
Another hot day, but cooler ones ahead thankfully

I love this wallpaper from our phone

Yesterday we went to the fish and chippy shop
we pretended we were on holiday
because when you're on holidays you can break
'the rules'

... then for a walk

Oh, you people at the Internet Office:
"Hmm... actually, I was connected to the Internet! "

loved this door in a hallway at Mum's care home

oh how I hate taking up hems... just saying

Ice Cream!!!!   Yum
[mentally jumping up and down with joy]

Coffee Fudge with Rum and Raisins on top
 (Hubby has the best ideas)

???? - stuck on what to do with this lol

heh heh, when we were first married, I had no
idea of what to cook - we took a liking to these!

these are bricks created by school children ... a couple of old pics, thought I'd share today

I was lucky enough to have grown some Ixias a few years back

Well, that's it for this post.  Thank you kindly for visiting.

Some more of my ladies and a milestone ~ Happy PPF!

Hello!

I hope your week has gone by smoothly.

Mine's been a bit 'here and there' -  but I finally gathered my wits and got a post together!

Here's some more sketches of faces which I will add to the lovely Paint Party Friday collection:

A few blogfriends commented in my last post that they enjoyed seeing my ladies all together.
So here's a shot of my newest ones that ended up on the same page as last weeks ones.

 Now, for a closer look:
Katie

Helen... who always wanted to wear a bird in her hair!

Mavis... looking pensive here.  I'm not sure she's had her morning coffee yes, that could be it.

Julie used to love the Dusty Springfield look... sometimes she still belts out a tune in front of the mirror!

Finally is a special one I've slipped in.
My darling and I were lucky enough to have reached the beautiful milestone of having our 50th Wedding Anniversary recently.
Here's a sketch I did from a photo of us that was taken a while back when I was in my red hair phase lol...
As for the likeness, it's not very good but it does capture a shared love that we never take for granted:

All the very best to you and thanks for popping in. Sue xx

Some Faces ~ Happy PPF ~

Hello!

Joining in with Paint Party Friday.

I've always loved the thought of sketching faces and have produced all manner of them over time.

I know the eyes may look in two directions at once in some of them, and that proportion is 'out the window' lol, but it's fun to do and,  in the spirit of sharing our art, here are what have been lurking in my various sketchbooks:

First of all, having been totally inspired by Denthe in her blogpost "Watercolor Girls"  this is what I came up with:

"Pony Tails" made her appearance some years back:

2013:

Finally, "Brown Eyes" a year later:

~ I really appreciate the opportunity of sharing my art and of being able to see what everyone else has created within the friendly community of Eva and Kristin's PPF blogspot.  Sue xx

Blue Eyes ~ Happy PPF !

Hello!

Couldn't think what to paint for yesterday's Paint Party Friday and so, once again, I had a look through some old journal pages and "Blue Eyes" is what I'd like to share this week.
I painted her back in 2014:
