Tomorrow - for sure

Sometimes this old girl just feels like slacking

you know... kind of just kicking back into low gear

just snuffling around at nothing in particular

just hanging around

sometimes stuff can be put off till tomorrow!

yep, tomorrow
... probably

All's good here but I'm having a bit more time off from blogging.
Thank you everyone for your beautiful comments on my previous post.
Once my batteries have been recharged, I shall pop over for visits once again.
Cheerio for now and kind wishes :D)

Sunday Serenity... the softness of late afternoon light

There is a special softness in that transition of late afternoon into evening.

Whenever I take a photo, there is always an emotional attachment to it in some way.
These photos are favourites of mine... they evoke a feeling of serenity and
I hope you can  feel it too.

~ may your week be full of happiness

Bits of this n that around the place

Here's my Winter veggie patch.

It's just a small area and so is easy to maintain.  I really enjoyed weeding in it yesterday.

We're getting some nice green pickings too.

Kale to the left.
Mignonette Lettuce (she's a bit precious in the frosts) in the foreground.
Little Gem Lettuce next (laughs at the frosts)
Then Swedes, and Shallots at the back
~~~~~~~~
Thought I'd include a quick glimpse of some of the veggies from MD's patch a while back.
A seemingly endless supply of beautiful Green Beans and Silverbeet
Delicious Pumpkin - we can never have too much
... and the stuff of our children's nightmares - Broad Beans !!
Yum !!
~~~~~~~~

Now that we'd waved goodbye to the rodents who'd taken up residence in my potting shed
(we sent them all on a nice trip...  one-way), I had the loathesome job of cleaning it up.  Quite pleased with the result.

A place for everything, and everything in its place - well, my intentions are good... we'll see.

~~~~~~~~
Local food crops had been affected by the floods in East Gippsland a couple of months ago.  However, our local vegie shop continued to sell the food, albeit a bit muddy or slightly affected (could you imagine the big supermarkets doing that!!!).
They were just labelled 'seconds' or 'for juicing' and were marked down in price.  It's still happening and we're more than happy to buy them.
~~~~~~~~

While we're on the subject of vegies... have you ever tried Sweet Potato (Kumara) Chips?
We quite enjoy them - they add a nice bit of sweetness to the meal.

I guess this doesn't look the most appetising when seen at this stage!

I chop up the chips
Pop them in a bag and add some oil
Squish them around and then turn out on a tray

Cook them in quite a hot oven
200 deg Celsius (conversion is 392 Fahrenheit) fan heated that is.
I never bother turning the chips - they take about half an hour
or so.... depends on how thick they're cut I guess!

While the chips are cooking, I chop a couple of shallots and saute them till soft in some olive oil, then add them to the baked beans.
Poach some eggs and that's all that needs to be done really.

... and that's our meatless meal - ticks all the dietary boxes too!

~~~~~~~~
Here's tomorrow's jobs - some more pruning and weeding.
I'd already made a start and will finish it tomorrow - weather permitting.
Cheerio for now :D)
