    1. Hello Baili, and thank you... those flowers in the header come from a beautiful Australian native tree down in our back yard.
The flowers in this post are also Grevilleas and I like to bring my easel out and stand near it to paint sometimes too.
I appreciate your visit and hoping all is well with you too xx

I'm not a constant kind of blogger, lol, but after quite some years of us being blogfriends, I'm sure you've worked that out! Trying to get some paintings going... and then I get on to something else. Hope all's going well over in your part of the world xx

    1. Thanks Duta, it was that photo I particularly loved. It has many huge, showy flowers on it that tree but the little new ones catch my eye, glad you liked it too.
That little bird is a loner (a trait of the "Little Wattlebird"), he/she has claimed that tree for itself and has its own routine between that tree, the bowl of water on our verandah and one other tree. I knew where to find it as I went looking to photograph it :D) xx

  5. Hi Sue. I don't know if we have Wattlebirds in Texas. I will have to look that one up to see. It is a very sweet bird, and your blossoms are the prettiest! Hope you are having a great week. We're having temperatures in the 70's with some rain, and I am grateful. There are a couple of hurricanes out an about and ready to land on our coast. I feel for the folks living on the coast, and hope they evacuate if needed. It's nice to see you here Sue. Sending hugs your way! ♥

    1. Oh that's much better temperatures Suzanne, a relief after all that heat you've been having.
Those hurricanes are bad news, I'd had to live in those areas with those threats. I can understand your concern for those coastal people.
Lovely to see you again, thanks for dropping in xx

    1. Thanks Sheila, am loving our native flowers and birds and they're what I've been having a lot of fun painting!
Glad you got to see your first Wattlebird. There are larger ones with a distinctive red "wattle" on each cheek... I'm not such a fan of them as they're quite aggressive and insist that they own all the trees in our garden!! Funny things, but the "Little Wattlebirds" seem to have a nicer nature.
Thanks Sheila, you enjoy your week xx

    1. Hi Carola, its a Grevillea hookeriana ... or, as its mostly called "Toothbrush Grevillea"
We have a few species of Grevillea throughout the garden and really love them, so do the native birds :D) xx
