Still Eastering here ...
Had a little fun playing around with empty easter egg wrappers and ended up with this:
| "Easter Flowers" Created with Easter Egg Wrappers, Watercolour pencils and Impasto texture medium as glue |
Quite a relaxing couple of hours, and here's a few progress pics:
![]() |
| Impasto worked well as a glue, applied with a palette knife, it stuck well and dried clear. Sticky fingers happened, but a dampened sponge soon sorted that out. |

| I drew the vase using watercolour pencils and then a quick brush with some water to activate the colour and the job was done. |
Funny how these ideas pop up. I've always liked the pretty coloured foil covering chocolate eggs, at last I found a use for them.
Linking to Eva and Kristin's Paint Party Friday, where the happiest of artists gather... and everyone's welcome!

What a tough task eating those Easter Eggs LOL!!
ReplyDeleteLove how you've done this and always good to see a step by step guide.
Beautiful colours ...
Have a happy Friday and a great weekend
All the best Jan

DeleteIt is beautiful, Sue! I admire and appreciate your creativity.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Linda, so lovely to read your kind words
DeleteWow Sue this is just fabulous. I love that you didn't want to get up to get the scissors. I think tearing the strips just added great flavor to this piece.
ReplyDeleteLovely! and I appreciate that Nicole very much
DeleteVery clever and creative.
ReplyDeleteThey look wonderful xxx
Much appreciated Angela thank you
DeleteGosh so creative and cute! I love that the wrappers didn't go to waste.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine... I would've thought that re-smelling the chocolate on those wrappers would have put me in the "I've had enough choccie by now" - but, nah!!! ha ha. Happy PPF!
DeletePretty, pretty creations Sue. You are very talented.
ReplyDelete... really lovely of you to say Denise, thank you!
DeleteGorgeous piece! Love the idea of eating chocolate for the cause..tee hee. I always love the foils used too! Morag who used to post weekly on ppf uses a lot of foil in her gorgeous work...you should check it out! Love your process photos and I can relate to being too comfy to get the scissors! Turned out perfectly! Adorable foil birdy too! Great post!
ReplyDeleteHugs Giggles
It's a good excuse for sure ;D)... thanks for the reference to Morag, I found her blogspot just now and I'll really enjoy looking through it, I love how she combines the foil with other items.

LOVE your wonderful flowers in their painted vase, and I admire your sacrificing yourself by eating so much chocolate for the sake of art! Great job, wish I had been able to help you! Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked them, thanks Valerie... it was funny, I had no plan and I wasn't even sure if they'd stick to the page, but it was all fun.

DeleteGlad you liked the picture, it was total fun Suzanne and lovely of you to leave your comment. Have a beaut weekend won't you. Cheers now!
Oh, that's gorgeous, Sue! I would never have guessed they were Easter egg wrappers. It looks like thick, glossy paint, and is beautifully partnered with the painted vase.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy... I do appreciate your thoughts and for your visit. Enjoy your weekend :D)
DeleteWhat a cool way to reuse chocolate Easter egg foil! It turned out beautifully! I am sure you had a truly horrible time eating that chocolate for the love of art! An artist has to do what an artist has to do!

ReplyDeleteIt was heaps of fun!! ha ha, a lot of yumminess entered into it too ;D) thanks so much Denise !
DeleteGreat work Sue, a beautiful vase of flowers. I have used sweet foils in the past on fabric - hate throwing them away really as the colours can be amazing. xx
