I'd been watching this squawking baby for a while and, taking pity on the poor overworked parents, so I threw out a little fresh meat.
It was much appreciated and delivered straight to baby:
It did the trick - for a few minutes anyway!
🐦 Thank you for flying in for a visit ;D) 🐦

DeleteAbsolutery fantastic Sue! I wonder how you managed - I never :)))))
ReplyDeleteThanks Riitta - so glad you enjoy them... I keep watch for a long time when I see baby birds. These mapgies lived close by :D)
DeleteIt's my first time to visit your blog and I am so impressed with your ability and skill to be able to see and transfer the beauty that surrounds you on your paintings too...it's a very special talent:)

Thank you very much for your visit :D)
DeleteWonderful photos, those squawking babies need loads of food! Great shots! I don't know those birds, though, not any we have over here! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie :D)
DeleteYou're so right, those babies need a constant supply. The Magpie babies take so long to wean from the parents too. Cheers!
Great shots Sue, you've captured these so well.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you kindly Jan!
DeleteHello Sue, these are awesome shots. Cool looking birds. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Eileen - glad you liked them :D)
DeleteGreat pictures Sue. xx
ReplyDeleteAwesome you posted while on holiday Lin! Thank you... keep enjoying Spain :D)
DeleteLovely feeding pictures from the event! Greetings
ReplyDeleteGreetings to you too Anne, thank you 🐦
DeleteGreat shots, Sue! I have magpies, peewees, crows, and even fairy wrens that visit regularly for oats that I throw out on the lawn for them. I agree that magpie babies are SO demanding! They certainly make their presence known. haha
ReplyDeleteYou've a great variety of birds too Serena!
DeleteIt's funny watching how the parents try to wean their maggie babies isn't it... even to the point of 'dumping' them on we humans ;D)
cool. but the "baby" is as large as the parent. They differ a little from the ones we have.
ReplyDeleteYes, and that's more or less how they seem once they've left the nest but are still dependant on Mum or Dad for food. It's just the feathers that show the difference. Thanks for your visit!
Deleteaww! So sweet of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine - we love to leave out some food but only randomnly ... doesn't take too long before they start to rely too much on we humans. Cheers now :D)
DeleteHi Sue, great pics of the baby bird being fed. Always fun to see that as they are always comical and sweet. They sure loved that meat you threw out to them.
ReplyDeleteHello Denise... thank you and, oh yes, they really know how to entertain - plus they really know how to pack the food in ;D)
Deletei am amazed by your presence of mind and wonderful timing dear Sue!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos ,they actually touch my heart .
you displayed the preciousness of family by few lovely clicks!
Thanks very much Baili ... I'm a garden lurker and watcher from way back ;D)
DeleteI'm really happy you've enjoyed these photos - it's lovely to share our pics isn't it. Bye now! \(^o^)/
Beautiful photos. The baby looks as big as the parent bird as yet it expected to be fed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy - they always intrigue us too. Their feathers being more fluffy is often the only giveaway that they're a baby :D)
Deleteoooh sue, how does momma do it - those babies can be quite demanding. awesome captures, your timing was perfect!!!!
ReplyDelete... I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lol... the parents work constantly to bring food to that ever gaping baby beak. It's tummy is a bottomless pit ha ha.
DeleteBye now xx
oh gosh... my correct apostrophe usage has gone so far downhill!!
Delete*its tummy
Gosh Sue, that is a BIG baby! No wonder it squawks so loud! You're a good aunt to help the parents out with feeding! And, you got the best photos-they are great! Have a wonderful weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteHeh heh, yes, a biggie all right - never ceases to amaze us when you see the parents scurrying at baby's beck and call. I purposely watched when I threw meat out once, the parents take every scrap to the baby and it's only on their third pickup that they eat any themselves. Glad you enjoyed it Suzanne, bye for now and have a really great weekend too, thanks :D) xx
DeleteP.S. I love your header photo of the cows.
ReplyDelete😊
DeleteI love the Hoodys.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly do squawk!!
ReplyDeleteDearest Sue; Wow, how sweet of you and I'm sure Mom (or Dad) really appreciated♪ Your pictures caught splendid moments(♡^.^♡) Hard work for the big baby☆☆☆
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE your sweet arrangement for the pictures.
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend, xoxo Miyako*
Great capture, Sue!
ReplyDeleteI bet Mother Maggie appreciated those meat titbits. Not to mention her squawking offspring. :)
Many thanks Vicki.
DeleteYes, and she was so selfless too - I think I mentioned earlier how she'd take a few mouthfuls to baby before she ate any herself.
Hugs now and take things easy... it's lovely of you to make a point of visiting each of my posts :D)xx
