I'd been watching this squawking baby for a while and, taking pity on the poor overworked parents, so I threw out a little fresh meat.
It was much appreciated and delivered straight to baby:
It did the trick - for a few minutes anyway!

DeleteGreat shots, Sue! I have magpies, peewees, crows, and even fairy wrens that visit regularly for oats that I throw out on the lawn for them. I agree that magpie babies are SO demanding! They certainly make their presence known. haha

DeleteIt's funny watching how the parents try to wean their maggie babies isn't it... even to the point of 'dumping' them on we humans ;D)
cool. but the "baby" is as large as the parent. They differ a little from the ones we have.
ReplyDeleteYes, and that's more or less how they seem once they've left the nest but are still dependant on Mum or Dad for food. It's just the feathers that show the difference. Thanks for your visit!

Beautiful photos. The baby looks as big as the parent bird as yet it expected to be fed.

I purposely watched when I threw meat out once, the parents take every scrap to the baby and it's only on their third pickup that they eat any themselves.
