Mumma Swan Update (Part 2)... another visitor!

Hey? Didja see the size of that pelican's belly?
Big gob on it too.
Cool, this is a great hangout!
I'm starvin!
Got some grub?
You guys don't say much do youse...."



(If ducks had teeth, I'm sure he'd be gritting his right about now!)




"That's it .... I've had it..... that flamin'   itchy, scratchy, noisy seagull just HAD to pick this particular spot...."




".... now it's woken Mumma with it's sqwarking and scratching ... perhaps if I move, it'll take the hint"





"... heh heh, Mumma's taking care of it, seeing it off.  
Ahhhhh, bliss, now I can get back to sitting. 
We'll get these eggs hatched Mumma.  I'm with you all the way."

  3. its always the way as soon as you lay on the couch and try to have a nana nap someone disturbs you.
    Makes me want to drive the 3 hours to lakes and have a look myself.

  8. Hi Texwisgirl, oh yes, Mumma Swan certainly had no worries about duck being with her. However, her body language soon changed when seagull arrived (think they pinch the food the locals leave out for Mumma).

    Angela, ha ha you're so right! If you drive down and have a look, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. There's a great fish "Awesome Fish and Chips" place in Lakes too, they sell $6 packs which are just great ;-)

  9. Had to come back for part II. Amazing! What a group! They are so funny and how the duck seems to be protective of the mum swan. Yet, it's almost like folks gathering on the beach and meeting for the first time. Beautiful photos Susan. And best wishes for following to the births! I love this!
