Took this photo yesterday. He's a regular visitor and follows both of us around the yard, giving occasional whistles and meaningful looks towards the empty bird feeder!

| He enjoys the wild bird seed best - hand fed of course! |

| This gang turned up and for many days willingly helped Tloml turn over the new potato patch. |

Gorgeous. I get a real buzz whenever a wild bird/animal trusts us enough to allow us to handfeed them.
ReplyDeleteBut I didn't know King Parrots liked green tomatoes! :)
Hi Susan, I love King Parrots too, we get the occasional one at the farm. I don't encourage them simply because of all my cats going to live there someday. A cheeky one raided the corn cob on the plant while I was watching! Cheeky thing!
ReplyDeleteYes Vicki, it's certainly a wonderful thing when that happens.
ReplyDeleteHave never seen them eat the ripe tomatoes, just the green!
Hi Rina - they hardly need any encouraging do they. So friendly.
We're finding they like a varied menu ... green tomatoes, corn, oh and we can add loquats too, we watch them raid our neighbour's tree!
Thanks to you both for dropping by :D
oooh!!! such beautiful birds!!
ReplyDeletehow lucky to have them visit...so close...right there in your yard!!
thanks for the picture!!! wonderful!! :)))
You're so right Laura, we are lucky. They brighten the garden with their splashes of colour too! Thanks for your visit :D
ReplyDeleteThey frequent our garden but usually just not usually in a big flock. I rarely see them down on the ground like in your shot, they seem to find plenty to eat in the tree canopy.
ReplyDeleteAren't they such delightful birds to have visit your garden!
ReplyDeleteThey came day after day and were after a bulbous type of weed that Tloml was digging up. We ended up calling them "The Workers"
Thanks for taking the time to make your comments on my various posts Joan Elizabeth :D
