Took this photo yesterday. He's a regular visitor and follows both of us around the yard, giving occasional whistles and meaningful looks towards the empty bird feeder!

Gorgeous. I get a real buzz whenever a wild bird/animal trusts us enough to allow us to handfeed them.

Hi Susan, I love King Parrots too, we get the occasional one at the farm. I don't encourage them simply because of all my cats going to live there someday. A cheeky one raided the corn cob on the plant while I was watching! Cheeky thing!

Hi Rina - they hardly need any encouraging do they. So friendly.
We're finding they like a varied menu ... green tomatoes, corn, oh and we can add loquats too, we watch them raid our neighbour's tree!

ReplyDeleteThey frequent our garden but usually just not usually in a big flock. I rarely see them down on the ground like in your shot, they seem to find plenty to eat in the tree canopy.

ReplyDeleteThey came day after day and were after a bulbous type of weed that Tloml was digging up. We ended up calling them "The Workers"
