It's Epi-time here in our garden.
[Epiphyllum]
Thanks to the many plants kindly given to us by one of my Sisters, quite a few years ago, we're enjoying seeing these gorgeous flowers bloom in the early warmth of this month.
Their buds are quite beautiful and they last for quite a few weeks.
Once in bloom they are at their best for a short couple of days.
I'll leave them to hang around in that state because they eventually produce small round fruits which taste delicious.
I hope everyone's going along okay at this busy time of year.
It's nice to be able to spend some early hours of the morning in the garden.
Retirement definitely has its advantages :D) Cheers!

ahh springtime! It is very far from us here in North America, lovely to share your flowers today!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, lovely to have you visit :D)
DeleteThe flowers are gorgeous. It's fun to see things growing in your garden that we only find in a well stocked florist's shop. Retirement sure has a lot of advantages! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHello Valerie, thank you ... we are so lucky to have these pretties in our garden. Cheers :D)
DeleteThey are beautiful. Sad that they don't last longer.
ReplyDeleteYes, their build-up in bud is something I enjoy ,,, probably because of their short flowering time! :D)

DeleteHi Sue! Lovely flowers! Greetings
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated Anne, thank you :D)
DeleteIt's always good to come here and feel the warmth (although I do enjoy our winter). Lovely to see your exotic flowers and I wonder if they would grow here in summer, I must have a look.
ReplyDeleteLovely, thanks Sheila.
DeleteMost probably they would - even though they look fragile, they are very hardy in fact ... ours had to look after themselves for 2 years a while ago - and with a bit of a top up with fresh soil and extra water over the recent year this is how they perform! They just like a bit of shelter from the extreme conditions. Cheers :D)
What beautiful flowers. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks kindly Lin :D)
DeleteThe flowers are beautiful. So delicate looking and it's nice that they produce tasty fruit. Wishing you a good day and weekend.

ReplyDeleteRetirement is a new beginning, to a beautiful life.
Beautiful thoughts from you Duta, thank you :D)
DeleteThe flower you kindly share with us is absolutely lovely even in photo and I hardly can imaging what it is in your garden. It's often so that the most beauty lasts only a short time, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your spring, we have got winter and snow here!
Happy weekend xx

spot on Debbie! It's really lovely to walk around the garden and bringing everyone to mind via the cuttings/plants :D)
DeleteHi Sue...such a beautiful plant and blossom! It's sad that they only last a few days, but, what enjoyment you get from them during that time.
ReplyDeleteWe traveled to Kansas for our Thanksgiving holiday and spent the time with my family. My grandson got to play with his second cousin for a couple of days, and had great fun. She is just a few months shy of being the same age as he. They got to meet for the first time in August, but spent more fun time together this past week.
Thank you for a beautiful post with the prettiest blooms! Have a wonderful week! xx
Thanks Suzanne, yes they have a short but glorious moment!
