Hello!
I hadn't painted anything this week, but there's been a lot of playing around with chooks and chickens though. (A little update photo is at the end of this post).
Had a look through my photos and I kind of felt in a Carnation mood. Don't you just love that beautiful cinnamon/peppery/sweet smell of Carnations or their smaller variety... Dianthus!
I made these cards below for loved ones last year and am delighted to share photos of them as my entry in Paint Party Friday:
| They're all watercolour with inkpen on watercolour paper |
Mumma and her two chicks are doing really well.
Their favourite game is to climb on to her back and slide down.
They were all enjoying a lovely sun bath in this snap:

Hello Debbie, thanks so kindly. Yes, carnations are really good how they last. Ooh gosh, we do enjoy having our little chicks and also watching Mumma teaching them things. Yesterday was the business of taking a dust bath... no old used dirt for her chicks, she set to and dug up great bowls of dirt for them... ha ha, grass etc went everywhere as she furrowed!!
DeleteGood cheer to you :D) xx
Your paintings are beautiful, love the colours! And family chicken is looking healthy and happy, and so cute :-)

DeleteGlad you love the chicks too - they are a joy to see... couldn't agree more, ha ha, I have over 200 photos already ;D)
Your carnations paintings are wonderful and delightful. I love the pinks and reds and greens you have captured and I can almost smell the scent. The painting of the flowers in the vase is tremendous, so fresh and summery.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I wish I could come right over and see the chicken and chicks. Imagine them playing at sliding, that's fabulous. Chickens are glorious creatures and love to chat, one of my relatives kept chickens and the chickens and I had some interesting conversations.
Thanks so much Sheila, I had a lot of pleasure painting these :D) For some reason, I seem to always come back to painting something in some kind of a vase ~ my 'thing' I guess! Really glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteLol, it is nice to talk to chickens - I know what you mean ;D) Cheers now!
