Their pinkly pinks looked so pretty amongst my little jungle:
These are a different variety and I love the pink trims along their leaf edges:
Those little clumps of yellow in the middle - enticing the bees:
Even though it's a bit blurry, I like this photo the best ... am thinking it's those pink edged leaves again:

Lovely flowers! Looks like a flower which is called here " annansilmä" joulubegonia flower. My mother liked it a lot when she was alive. Greetings
ReplyDeleteThanks for that name Anne, it sounds beautiful as is your memory. Cheers :D)
Deletebeautiful, lovely to visit today!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, beaut to have you visit too :D)
DeleteThose flowers are gorgeous, I'm looking forward to having some flowers soon, too. Have a wonderful day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie... I hope its not too long before your flowers pop up! Cheers :D)
DeleteSue, these are absolutely stunning! And this brings back fond memories of my late mother, who died in 1983. She had a few Begonia plants and loved them. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's always so lovely when we can associate flowers with the memories of a loved one, thanks for sharing this Linda. Have a beautiful day :D)
DeleteBeautiful pink begonias.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, and I like your header too!
All the best Jan
Thanks Jan, glad you're enjoying all this pinkly pinkness! I love it too :D)
DeleteDear Sue I grow begonia flowers here in the summer. They are so hardy and seem to thrive almost anywhere. Fun to see yours blooming. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely to know Deborah. I agree, they're incredibly hardy ... plus, the plant in the last couple of photos popped up in a completely unrelated pot plant. It must have been a seed that flew in from somewhere. I let it grow on a bit and then I broke bits off and potted them separately - now they're thriving!
DeleteEnjoy yours when they flower once more! Cheerio :D)
They are such a beautiful flower -- we used to grow them in outdoor hanging baskets when we lived in Oregon.
ReplyDeleteHi Sally, they make really nice displays in a basket don't they - I experimented with both the varieties I have and they thrive as long as they have a bit of shelter in the cooler months.
DeleteThanks for leaving your comments - cheerio for now :D)
They are just so pretty. Enough to brighten up anyone's day.
ReplyDeleteThat's so lovely - I'm glad, thank you Lynda... cheers!
DeleteI love begonias - lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol!
DeleteLiebe Sue,
Heidi
Translation of Heidi's comment:
DeleteSo beautiful is it with you. It is a pleasure to look at your icebergs or "heart-Jesus-sticks" (they are called with us)!
With us this morning was still full of frost ... But the spring comes ... some green spots can be seen in the otherwise bare ground already ...
All love and joy with your flowers
Heidi
Hello Heidi, thanks for telling us how they are called in your part of the world :D)
DeleteYour lettuces would be happy with the frost - it always seems to make them taste sweeter doesn't it.
Nice to know you'll be seeing Spring soon, those little green spots are always a welcome sight after so much cold weather.
Cheerio for now and lovely to have you visit!
Your photos of begonia are so pretty. Me too connect begonias with my late mother. She used to have them always. Wishing you a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteHello Riitta, they were definitely a flower of choice and it's lovely to know of your Mother's preference.
DeleteI can remember them being in our garden when I was a child, but my Mum's favourites were sweet peas :D)
Sue, I used to have exactly the begonia that you have in your garden...I planted them outside but didn't bring them in for the winter...sadly, the following year I couldn't find it in it's place again:( The pretty pink heart flowers are so unique:)
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely to know too Annie, but I'm sorry to read how you lost your plant.. I hope you can get another plant. Yes, I agree, those heart shapes are quite different to others.
DeleteThanks for visiting :D)
So beautiful! The first I haven't seen before.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of begonie tubers in the basement, waiting for frost free times... I very like them.
Greetings from Germany
That's lovely, thanks Mascha. I hope it's not too long before you can release your Begonias once more ;D) Cheers now, beaut to have you visit!
Deleteooooh goodness, they are so very pretty, i think they need to be painted!!!
ReplyDelete... you were reading my mind ;D)xx
DeleteHello, they are lovely pink blooms. Pretty images. I hope you are having a good day!
ReplyDeleteCheers Eileen... thanks for popping over :D)
DeleteHi Sue. I do like your header photo with the water lilies and ferns! Don't you just love begonias? I have them every year, because they are so pretty, and I, too choose the ones with the pink trimmed leaves. They are the brightest! Hope you are doing well. See you soon! ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzanne, it's a lovely pond and so many little creatures, as well as birds, gather to have a drink. Its texture allows the smallest of lizards to keep a grip on it.
DeleteYes, the begonias are so pretty and the first couple of plants have now stopped flowering for the year, I was so glad I took those photos! Really glad you enjoyed them too :D)xx
Oh, btw Suzanne... I popped a few videos on my sidebar that might be of interest as regards painting - I found them (and others by the same people) to be really good to look at. Just a thought xx
Pretty in pink. And yellow. And green. Nature really is the master artist. :)
ReplyDeleteI especially like the third photo down with the droplets of water on the petals.
Nature surely is!! I am always in awe at how things are :D)
DeleteThanks Vicki, anything with droplets or mist etc really get my eye as well!
