Another quick glimpse of the map. We got as far as Montague Point (the south west tip of Raymond Island) in the last post.
Leaving Montague Point and walking along the
sand towards Harrington Point .......

| We had found St Barnabas Chapel. To see this, on this particular day, was a very special find. |
Mum and baby.
The baby was trembling with fear, (Mum was ok... she
was obviously used to being stared at!)
so we quickly took the photo and left them in peace.

| They're so clever how they sleep in the crook of a branch. |
This will end up being the longest day in blog history I'm thinking ;-)
The final bit later on ~

Well, you are sending us more sunshine as i wished earlier on!
ReplyDeleteThank you for these photos.
I absolutely love these koalas mum and baby, sooo cute, i have never seen any in the wild. They look like cuddly toys, don't they?!
Susan this is the great thing about blogger friends they can show you what you are missing elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteThe Kangaroo footprint is huge. The Koalas are so cute. Thank you so much for sharing. Incredible photos. B
Gorgeous koala photos! Looks like a wonderful place to visit as well. :)
ReplyDelete~ DeeBee, you're welcome! The koalas do look so cuddly and soft... they apparently pack quite a scratch with those claws though ;-)
ReplyDeleteThere was a count of them taken last year and there's around 350 koalas on the Island now.
~ Buttons, thank you I was very happy to share.
Yes, I too am enjoying the whole blogging business so much... the wealth of knowledge and experiences that are generously shared is wonderful :)
~ Kat, Hi and a first time welcome to my blog :D
Those koalas are all close enough to touch. We walk beneath their trees. They're protected and looked after so well there. However, many residents have circular plastic tree guards on some of their garden trees as the koalas can strip them of leaves in minutes!!
Oh, Susan! You could happily have made the day longer!!! I've loved every bit of this outing and seeing those koalas is such a treat!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this enjoyable day with us :)
Thank you Desiree, and you're welcome :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I now make a habit of always bringing the camera whenever we go out for a drive. The day was totally unplanned and one thing just led to another... Cheers :D
Koalas are sooooo cute.... wish I could see one some day....

~ Hi BumbleVee, yes they are and it's fun playing "spot the koala" as we walk around below all their trees.
ReplyDelete~ That's nice you enjoyed it all Laura, LOL - yes, that roo would be a big fella with prints the size he left. We've only ever seen wallabies (much smaller kangaroos) on the island.
~ Cheers :D
