Happy New Year everyone!
and may your bits of remaining fruit cake stretch for a few more cuppas yet.
Am off bloghopping this morning but first wanted to freshen up mine with a new post.
This is most likely a very strange photo with which to welcome the new year. However, when I saw these little fellows the other morning it made me feel a little less frustrated with myself in regards to all I want to do this year. Sometimes, I make just too many plans and projects and a lot fall by the wayside. But, if I take it nice and steady and keep at it, a bit here, a bit there I can cover a lot of ground!

So, starting with the next few weeks, er... months, I'll get on with making some bean bags for extra seating, finish Penelope, keep at my drawing, bake those banana cakes, fish out that unfinished knitting, tidy up the wardrobes, re-arrange the kitchen cupboards, sew some new bears, read my new photographic books and practice, practice, practice, finish the mulching and try to remember what else I had on my mental list of To Do s ~ cheers :D

A very happy new year to you and yours, Susan. May 2011 be all you want it to be. Maa
ReplyDeleteHello Susan: You sure have a lot to do on your list. I applaud your planning. I hope I get lots done but it never seems to happen as planned. Happy New Year and all the best.
ReplyDeleteAre they snails on the blue wall?
Whew.... makes me tired just hearing/reading that list! It'll be next Christmas before you get all that done!
ReplyDeleteI'm a slug...or a snail... or the other s word... sloth... I never race around much...but do plod on...and always say that I can go all day if I go at my own pace. As a matter of fact..I can go all day and well into the wee hours of the morning if I go at my own pace... still don't get all I want done though. I somehow manage to fritter away many hours ... just frittering.....
No fruit cake left ...but... I do have a few slices of an eggnog loaf...and some chocolate covered biscuits...
Ha Ha, I haven't even started the fruit cake yet so there are plenty of cuppas to go. I'm also deep into the spring cleaning before I go back to work ,,, one week to go. It is so nice to think of things being tidy at least once per year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year,
ReplyDeleteI love all those familiar things on your list. I have been busy mulching my garden in the last few days but still a lot more to do. I'm tired!!
~ Maa, thank you very much, a lovely wish. I would like the year to not go as fast as 2010.... is that selfish? lol !
ReplyDeleteHope the weather is being kind to you up there :)
~ Buttons, just love a good list – thank you :)
I can see from your blog that you’re pretty darn good at coping with the unplanned though:D
Oh and yes, they are snails - lol !
~ BumbleVee, ha ha, it made me tired too - that's why I included the slight adjustment of "weeks" to "months" in my projections!! If need be, I can always call another meeting and re-visit the list - I totally hold the casting vote ;-)
btw, frittering is soooo good isn’t it, some of my best work is done whilst a-fritter... as is yours I’m sure :D
~ Joan Elizabeth, wow!! we're so at your place - untouched fruit cake. Unbelievable!
Good wishes on completing your spring cleaning so you can enjoy the results. I tore my linen pantry apart looking for old sheets to make bean bag liners ... aaaagh unexpected spring clean had to happen, but I love to look inside it now ;-)
~ Annie, oh the joy of how great it all looks when it's done, plus it gives those darn weeds something to think about eh .. mulch on Annie! It's nice and cool here today, might even get out and do some more myself. After morning coffee of course ;-)
p.s. don't forget to put your feet up for a while though!
Great to have you all stop by. Cheers :D
Susan I do hope you can share your "bear" knowledge! I would soooooo like to make one. My sewing skills are rudimentary though. Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDelete~ Mary, happy to - will do a post when I start.
ReplyDeleteLOL ! rudimentary is fine - as long as you can sew a seam that holds stuffing in.... if it can't, that just means it's an old bear ;-)
Thanks for your visit.
I can't wait Susan!! I'm proud to say I can sew a seam too. I made some "bed buddies" this weekend. They are like little pillows of various sizes that I fill with rice, flax seeds and lavender flowers. I heat them and use the warm moist heat on my frozen shoulder that is giving me FITS of misery. I wish I could send you one!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Susan!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as if you have the next few months well planned out.
Here's to a creative, productive and, most importantly, happy 2011.
Cheers
Vicki
P.S. Those snails are much faster than we give them credit for. Too fast actually -- hungry little blighters.
~ Mary, thank you, how kind, those little pillows of yours sound so nice. A frozen shoulder - ouch... not so nice.
ReplyDeleteDo you do a specific exercise, in addition to the heat therapy, to try and keep it flexible? I'm a great believer in physiotherapy. Good luck with your shoulder, Mary, I hope it heals up real soon.
~ Vicki, thank you, couldn't wish better than that :)
Have had a good start to my list - we finished the mulching yesterday, beaut gardening weather down this way (not too hot)!
LOL, yes, too true your comment about the snails :D
cool pic. snail art--what a hoot! you've got a powerful list of to-dos and thx for reminding me to make banana bread with some bananas in the freezer. look forward to seeing more of where your photo practices lead you!
ReplyDelete~ Dmarie, love it, your expression "snail art" thank you kindly .... and, little did you know, it complements what M(y) D(arling) was just telling me which will be the subject of today’s “This Is On My Mind” contribution.
ReplyDeletebtw, I hope your banana bread is more successful than my soggy efforts – another soon-to-be-post! I shall come a-looking for your recipe - ok? Cheers:D
